Sales recruitment 'could be bolstered after summit'

Sales recruitment firms in the Midlands could have some good news to celebrate when a summit that will look at ways to boost employment in the region tables its findings.

Rural and business leaders from across the UK are coming together to put forward ideas on how the region's companies can improve investment and be picked up during the downturn.

The meeting will be organised by the Commission for Rural Communities (CRC) and aims to push rural economies higher up decision-makers' agendas.

Dr Stuart Burgess, chairman of the CRC, said: "Rural businesses and employees are a vital part of the nation's and regions' economies yet they can be overlooked in government support packages and policies."

Engineering sales jobs were recently bolstered when the Royal Air Force announced it had agreed a multi-million pound contract with maintenance firm Panavia to look after the Tornado GR4 aircraft until the end of their working life.
