Taking time over a CV 'will pay dividends'
Taking more time when putting together a CV for sales jobs will give applicants more chance of being successful, according to one publication.
The Wall Street Journal wrote about the benefits of being thorough and stringent when compiling a CV and added that a good initial application could significantly affect the chances of an interview and the amount of money offered if successful.
It stated: "An effective CV can greatly improve the chances of getting that dream job. The quality of a CV determines the number of interview calls, offers and salary you get at the end of the process."
Because of the sheer numbers of applicants for each advertised position at present, applicants must take time to clearly highlight their skill-set and background, according to the financial publication.
The importance of paying attention to details on a CV was recently highlighted when accounting and finance firm Accountemps revealed that 76 per cent of senior executives said they would rule out mistake-heavy candidates.
