Expert: Key to sales jobs is persistency

People wanting to get their ideal sales jobs need to be persistent and make themselves known to a company before applying for a position with them, according to one expert.

Philly.com spoke to recruitment expert Jay Hofmeister about his tips for success when going for sales jobs and he said making a good impression, even over the phone, is vital.

He told the website: "Our organisation recommends a phone call to the hiring manager before you send in your resume...Follow-up is essential if you want to make an impression."

Staying in contact with companies and not just relying on a CV to impress an employer was also advice from the recruitment guru.

But he also warned that candidates need to be careful to not allow their calls to turn into pestering which will not impress a potential employer.

In other sales jobs news, being well prepared for phone interviews and not being scared to ask to be called back are vital for success, employment expert Joyce Lain Kennedy told the Tribune Media Services.
