Concentrate on 'concise adverts' for sales jobs

Adverts for jobs should be concise to ensure that firms receive only the most relevant CV responses, it has been claimed.

Research by Broadbean Technology, one of Europe's largest advert distribution and tracking firms, found that irrelevant advert responses to positions such as sales jobs were one of the main concerns for recruiters.

Following in a close second was that adverts often received too few responses, highlighting the benefit of going through a sales recruitment consultant, particularly for more specialised roles such as business development jobs and sales engineer jobs.

Head of account management at Broadbean, Emma Cuffaro, explained that adverts should be "well written and concise to ensure that they get the most relevant CVs back from job boards".

Common advert errors included not specifying a region or country location of the role, coinciding with the third highest recruitment gripe - responses from clients that can't work in the UK.

However, despite undoubted errors in adverts, writing good adverts for positions such as sales recruitment was one of the lowest on the list.
